OREGON ENERGY FUND

Power Hope. Power Love. Power Light.

Imagine a life without electricity or natural gas. No A/C to keep you cool in the summer. No heat to keep your family warm in the winter. No stove, no refrigerator, no lights, no internet. For thousands of Oregon families, this scenario is all too real. To help raise funding for households in need, we created a campaign for the non-profit Oregon Energy Fund that celebrated the power of hope and love in our shared humanity.
Since this was a super low-budget project, we didn’t have the resources to shoot footage, but we needed to find a compelling way to bring the message to life. I wrote both of these manifestos with a focus on first-person narration to ensure the message felt personal. I then sourced stock footage that felt authentic to the time and place with the goal of creating empathy. After the edit was put together, I cast not just one VO artist, but several, to create a sense of community and sound like real people rather than the polished bullshit we’re so used to seeing in commercials. The result – a client who cried in the room and an increase in funding that whole winter.
